Mashup

The subject we covered in class this week was "Mash Up". It is a hard concept to grasp, even if you are partly computer savvy. The idea that a broad subject for example a locations real estate opportunities in a city can be compiled and placed on a website is mind boggling. To be able to compound that much information and place it in a user friendly format seems impossible. Another example of this in class was use of "Mash up" to essentially data mine an individuals online purchasing interests, as vast as they may be, into a industry sales focused strategy. Even if that was the full time task of an individuals company, the industry buying that information would still have to look at it knowing that the data is probably skewed.
